Welcome!
Based by the sea in West Sussex, England, I make Native American style shamanic medicine drums, rattles, medicine bags, leather bags for drums & flutes, & any other bespoke leatherwork you might require.
A qualified Sacred Drumming Practitioner (College of Sound Healing), my aim is to provide you with the highest quality spiritual tools made in ceremony & with pure intent to aid your personal development.
MEDICINE DRUMS
I firmly believe that a medicine drum should have a high quality sound to be truly effective for shamanic journeying and sound healing - it should be easily able to produce harmonic and sub-harmonic overtones.
A classic in the field of Sound Healing, Jonathan Goldman's "Healing Sounds: The Power of Harmonics" documents the extraordinary power of harmonics to heal and transform.
My medicine drums are renowned for their sound and energetic qualities, and are widely used by practitioners in a variety of healing modalities, including sound healing, shamanic healing and Reiki.
I only use the very best quality ethically sourced rawhide from artisans who prepare their hides by hand with the love and respect that the animal kingdom deserves.
I can make drums in any size, but I recommend 13-15" for blending portability with great tone and resiliance to humidity. the power of a 13" drum should not be underestimated - it really belies its size. A recent customer described her 13" drum to me as "a wildly resonant thunderstorm! My whole therapy room was shaking! Its so deep and hollow with a massive sustain".
I also make double-sided drums. The resonance of the double-sided drum is completely different, acoustically and energetically. The space inside the drum between the two hides, where the sound waves cross over and cancel each other out, becomes a point of complete stillness and peace.
It is an honour for me to bring a new drum into the world, and to hear from someone how they are connecting with their drum on a deep spiritual level.
DRUM MAKING WORKSHOPS I love making drums for other people, but I also enjoy empowering people to create their own drums with their own energy and healing intent.
Making a medicine drum is a transformational process, resulting in the creation of a powerful healing tool.
I am not a qualified teacher, but I have been involved in teaching and training in a professional capacity for almost 20 years.
I offer workshops for small groups to empower people to make their own medicine drums, and to share my knowledge and passion for this sacred tool.
Teaching is given in a calm and supportive manner in order to aid your journey through this powerful process. I encourage you to read feedback from my drum making workshops on my Testimonials page. Workshops are held throughout the year in West Sussex.
Alternatively, I can travel to you, subject to a minimum number of participants. I currently have spaces available for the following workshops:
- Saturday 9th June, at the tranquil rural location Rhythm of Life, Elham, near Canterbury, Kent.
I invite you to contact me for more information on drum making workshops.
DRUM HEALING I am fully qualified by the College of Sound Healing and professionally insured to carry out drum healing treatments.
Whilst not a substitute for conventional medicine, drum healing has been scientifically proven to promote and encourage healing for a wide variety of physical, emotional and spiritual conditions. A drum healing treatment is carried out fully clothed, either seated or laying on a treatment couch.
After an initial confidential consultation, the treatment involves gently drumming through the auric energy fields and chakras to promote balance and wellbeing. Patients report a deep sense of peace and relaxation following treatment.
LEATHER DRUM BAGSA drum bag is a useful and attractive way of protecting, storing, and transporting your drum.
I hand-cut and hand-stitch drum bags in different sizes using bison leather. They can be decorated with leather fringes, or left plain.
Bison leather captures the enduring spirit of Bison. I particularly favour bison leather for drum bags as it has a fantastic and distinctive grain unlike any other type of leather, guaranteeing that each drum bag is genuinely one of a kind.
I also use tanned hair-on bison hide to bring another dimension to your drum bag.
RATTLESMedicine rattles are used extensively in Shamanism, Pagan and Native ways. A rattle can be used easily while dancing, chanting and invoking power while moving about, as well as when sitting down. The rattle invokes powerful Crown Chakra energy, and can be used for cleansing the energy fields of places, particularly at the beginning of ceremonies and rituals - and can be used as part of a drum healing treatment or shamanic journey.
I make rattles from deer, bison and horse hide, as well as supplying kits to enable you to make your own rattle from a quality hand stitched rawhide rattle head.
LEATHERCRAFTI handcraft a variety of other items to order from the finest quality deer and bison hide.
Items I make include:
- medicine pouches
- bags for drums, flutes, rattles & medicine pipes
